Flower Joy

Woohoo! Flower Joy is a finish!

Made following the Autumn Joys pattern in the Accent on Angles book (affiliate link), mine has an extra block of width, and an extra 2 blocks in length. That makes a finish at 58" x 72", for a nice lap size.

And look - this one has a border, made with a combo of red, black, and a beautiful leaf fabric. I'm normally not a border person, but this design looks great with one.

Given that the fabrics are Asian themed, I chose a pantograph called Asian Maple, modifying the swirl slightly, and stitching it in Glide Sand.

Here's a view of both the pantograph stitching and the floral backing fabric that works so well with the front.

I barely had enough of that floral print, and pieced together the remaining strips and scraps from the front to make a coordinating band on the back.

Besides a small amount of yardage of three prints, these are all the scraps I have left from making the blocks. The majority of this goes to the recycle bin - I'm not attempting to use any more of it.

I'm not sure which I like better - the front or the back!

Next up is a quilt made with the Use It Up pattern, also with Asian fabrics, but in blue. I'll be starting soon, after a few other quilty interruptions along the way.
