Oh mom would have just loved these decadent strawberries! Makes me want to pop one into my mouth right now, though I may have to order a box for the real thing. Check out all of these dipped and coated berries at Shari's Berries.
Who knew there were so many ways to dip and decorate a strawberry? Don't they look delicious?
That temptation, along with my mom's love of strawberries and it being spring, is my inspiration for my newest runner, Chocolate Dipped Strawberries.
These delectable paper pieced strawberries were designed in EQ8, and tested not just for ease of sewing, but using three different styles of paper piecing. In a follow up post, I'll go over those three techniques: foundation paper piecing, freezer paper foundation piecing, and freezer paper template piecing.
Till then, let's enjoy some Chocolate Dipped Strawberries!
This is one of two dipped in milk chocolate with a drizzle of white chocolate,
and this is a white chocolate dipped berry, with stripes of milk chocolate.
For this runner, I chose to place my strawberries in box, as if a gift, nestled in little dark brown pleated cups.
I also could have chosen to dip all of my strawberries in dark chocolate, setting them in creamy white pleated cups to show them off. Here's what that box would look like.
Or maybe I just want a strawberry with sprinkles!
My mouth is watering! Are you ready to try one? From now until the end of April, the paper pieced Chocolate Dipped Strawberry runner pattern is half price in my Etsy shop - enjoy this delicious springtime treat!
Happy Quilting!
