Welcome to Midweek Makers! My share this week is an update on Seafarer, which is not only a quilt, but the name I use to refer to my son, because he's the owner of the Seafarer quilt.
Po, the faithful companion he brought from Paraguay, celebrated his 1st birthday last week. In this picture, his usual bandana is replaced with a festive birthday hat.
And because I wanted everyone to know it's his birthday, I made him a special bandana with 'Birthday Boy' embroidered on an appliqued bone. Doesn't he look handsome?
If you look real close in the bottom left, you can see the Seafarer quilt, and also a bandage on Po's leg. Over Thanksgiving, he thought he would take on a car, but lost that skirmish. Ended up with a scraped leg and possible ligament damage. For now, he's hopping around on three legs. Not only do we hope his recovery goes well, but that he also learned his lesson.
Now back to quilting. Thanks to all who entered the two book giveaways last week - let's say congratulations to Alayne, who won the Beneath the Missouri Stars book, and Nancy, who won the Happy Quilter Variety Puzzles book. Enjoy!
