Welcome to the official start of the Stay at Home Round Robin, hosted by Quilting Gail!
I'm a big fan of Round Robins, those quilt-alongs that start with your own center, then are passed to the next quilter for them to add a round, and so on. In the Stay at Home Round Robin, which is online, the quilt is completely created by you - there is no passing it around to several quilters.
Last year, I made two online Round Robin quilts with Quilting Gail's Stay at Home Round Robin: Fiesta Garden and the Moon and the Stars.
Hubby begged me to stop Fiesta Garden after the pinwheel round, which I did, and it has become one of our favorite quilts
Having so much fun last year, I've joined with Quilting Gail and 6 other quilters to host the 2021 Stay at Home Round Robin, to create Round Robin quilts completely ourselves. Check out this impressive list:
- January 11: centre blocks: Gail @ Quilting Gail
- January 18: 1st Round: Chris @ Chrisknitssews
- January 25: 2nd Round: Emily @ The Darling Dogwood
- February 1: 3rd Round: Anja @ Anja Quilts
- February 8: 4th Round: Roseanne & Sue @ Home Sewn by Us
- February 15: 5th Round: Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life
- February 22: 6th Round: Susan @ Quilt Fabrication
- February 28: 7th Round ME!!! @ Quilting Gail
For my center, I've chosen a block I made years ago in the Laundry Day quilt along hosted by A Dream and a Stitch and Color, Creating, and Quilting.
Though this block leans patriotic, my intent is not to have the final quilt red, white, and blue. Instead, I plan to work in green, yellow, red, cream, and blue - I can't wait to create!
Won't you join us?
Happy Quilting
This looks fun. I am off to my sewing room to see if I can find a good orphan block for this project.
ReplyDeleteI remember the Laundry Day QAL. Here's to a great round robin.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fun block for the Round Robin! This is going to be a great sew along!
ReplyDeleteI loved your quilt last year! Looking forward to seeing your round robin rows!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a really old photo of my husband's grandmother hanging laundry on a windy day. Big house with 12 kids and assorted relatives, lots of laundry. Will make a great memory quilt.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I LOVE your round robin quilts from last year ... and your centre block for this year is pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting! :-)
Hi Susan! What a fun center block. I can't wait to see how you build around this house with a cute quilt on the clothesline. Those additional colors will be fab to see added with each round. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteThat's how I started my project last month, using a block created at another time! Great choice.
ReplyDeleteSusan your centre block is going to be the start of a very pretty quilt with those colours! 😉
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun center block! Great choice, and I like your proposed color palette. Fiesta Garden is beautiful!
