This post updated November 2022.
This month, we're going International! So let's join hands, and become Friends.
The Friends block is my creation for Quilt Block Mania's June block, with an anything goes color scheme for this International theme. How better to express that than with people of all colors joining hands?
These eight people are easily paper pieced and very exciting to see them join hands. They're also based on the colors of the rainbow, with turquoise thrown in as an eighth color - I think it adds a nice touch!
Friends finishes at 12" x 12", which is a nice size to work with for these eight people. I made this one as women, and have added a male version to the pattern offered in my Etsy shop.
Now let's take a look at the blocks my fellow Quilt Block Mania designers have come up with to express an International theme.
Be sure to visit each one for their block! Keep in mind that these blocks may no longer be free. The designers reserve the right to offer the patterns for sale after the initial one-month free period is over.

ReplyDeletethis is wonderful. I love the different colors. I can so see men in with the women. Thank you for this great block.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet block!
ReplyDeleteHonestly didn't notice that it was all women! Would be a nice thing for a ladies quilt circle of friends, everyone signing their name. But love the idea of male block. Or maybe a Mother/Daughter quilt? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI like those ideas!
DeleteThat’s a fun block. I never thought of it being all girls as I never remember cutting out boy paper dolls as a child.
DeleteI just love what you designed!!! perfect for the theme and so much fun in solids.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of this block. I don't seem to be receiving the email with the pattern. Can you help? Ringo's Mom hrwamw@aol.com
