Thank you to everyone who joined in to celebrate National Dog Day with me! Though the party may be over, I have a puppy update, winners to announce, and poll results.
First, my update - Good Dog now has a few very tempting bones to chew on.
Soon, these bones will be part of a wall hanging along with the Good Dog blocks. I can't get enough of dogs right now!
Let's wish a big congrats to the winners from the National Dog Day celebration. Kathy won a copy of the Good Dog pattern, and Julia, a Puppy Tales pattern. Rosie, an avid paper piecer, says she enters a lot of contests but hasn't won in a long time. She got lucky this time, winning Mary Hertel's Paper Piecing All Year Long book - yay! (affiliate link)
For fun, here's the results of the questions from the giveaways:
Making the National Dog Day Quilt Linky Party an annual event. The overwhelming response was YES! I would love to do this again and will mark my calendar for next year - hope you do too!
Bandanas: yes or no. It also seems that Po, my grandpuppy, is unusual in that he ALWAYS sports a bandana. From the answers, most dogs don't like them, nor do their humans. Though in regards to bandanas vs the Santa hat on the Puppy Tales applique, the big favorite was bandanas.
Last but not least was the preference for applique, paper piecing or regular piecing when making a dog block. Both paper piecing and regular piecing were the winners here, with applique very close behind. I'd call it all even!
With one party down, there's still one to go - National Cat Day, October 29. Get your cats and quilts ready to celebrate, and spread the word.
Happy Quilting!
