Pinwheel Twist for Quilt Block Mania

This month we're getting creative with traditional blocks, as the Quilt Block Mania theme is Traditional with a Twist. I went simple, reworking a pinwheel block for an easy stunner I'm calling Pinwheel Twist.

I just love the striking placement of colors in this one! Here's the Design Seeds color palette we got to work with,

and I'll admit, my block was inspired by the picture. In it I see not-quite-open buds nestled amid a tender green blush of leaves, with a beautiful blue sky in the background. I think my block captures that perfectly!

My Pinwheel Twist block features easy piecing, perfect for a beginner quilter. For one block, fat quarters are all that's necessary.
