FREE Clover Themed Patterns

March is fast upon us! It's the month of spring and St. Patrick's Day, two reasons to celebrate the color green!

Below are links to over 10 free patterns featuring clover, shamrocks, Irish chains, and other Irish inspired symbols. Starting off are some easy clover quilt blocks, finishing with a couple quilt patterns - choose your favorites or love them all!

Leah Day of the Free Motion Quilting Project has a tutorial plus video for making this easy Four Leaf Clover Mini block.

Missouri Star Quilt Co created this Four Leaf Clover Block,

The Stash Bandit has created a Lucky block, used in this little quilt.

And Piece and Quilt has a great tutorial on this Clover Quilt Block.

I liked it so much that I designed a paper pieced Irish Chain border to make a table runner. This is one of my favs for decorating!

Here's a unusual clover block, the Lucky Clover, brought to you by Quilting Daily,

which is part of the Tales of Ireland sampler quilt, full of more FREE blocks.

Here's a couple applique clovers, another Lucky Clover from Geta's Quilting Studio,

and this Four Leaf Clover from Quilting Daily.

Last but not least are a couple of quilt projects, this one, St Patrick's Surprise from Moonlight Quilts,

and Clover Field, Kona solids from Robert Kaufman.

Enjoy the lovely green of spring and the celebration of St. Patricks' Day!
Happy Quilting!

Midweek Makers 320

Welcome to Midweek Makers! Let's have another week of sharing!

But first we need to congratulate Judy - she won the Divided Hearts quilt book, and from the Rafflecopter questions, I found out several of you own quilts that are over 100 years old - impressive!

As for my share this week, it's some more scrappy RSC2022 quilt blocks, this time in teal or aqua as that's the color choice for February. There's two each of an 8.5" and a 4.5" size block, though I'll probably need a few more.

Since teal is such a wonderful calming color, I'm going to feature projects with teal in them this week. From A Scrappy Quilter, there's this beautiful teal star,

and from The Colorful Fabriholic, this lovely teal basket weave quilt top.

Wonderful tops - I wouldn't mind these in my house!

And now it's your turn - what is your share this week?
  • please link directly to your post
  • please link a quilt related item
  • visit with the other guests and leave some comment love
Have fun!

Giveaway Time!

It's time for another giveaway, thanks to C&T Publishing. This time, it's quilts intertwined with history in Barbara Brackman's Divided Hearts book (affiliate link, to check out the book in more detail).

This one is for the history buffs, as Barbara weaves fascinating historical narratives in with 12 different quilt blocks. Not only are there tidbits to learn about important women in our history in Divided Hearts, but there's also instructions for creating the twelve accompanying blocks plus a few added setting blocks.

Here's a sample of the blocks:

and here they are again, on-point, with sashing, in a red/white color scheme.

And also in this square, straight setting with alternating chain blocks in calm blue.

These are just a few examples of quilt layouts shown in the book. There's plenty more ideas for using the 12 blocks to make beautiful quilts!

Now for the history part. There's a number of women who were important figures in the country's history, such as Mary Todd Lincoln, Mittie Bulloch Roosevelt, and Anna Maria Calhoun Clemson. Divided Hearts tells the stories of these women, their role in history and also their relation to the quilts.

Want to learn more? Then enter to win (via Rafflecopter below) a copy of Divided Hearts. Giveaway is open to continental US residents only (no Alaska, Hawaii, or International residents - sorry), from now until midnight February 21.

Midweek Makers 319

Welcome to Midweek Makers! Let's do some sharing!

I've got some hearts to add to my red/white scrap quilt idea,

as part a spinoff of RSC2022 January's red color choice. The speed at which I'm making these blocks is pretty slow, so it's probably going to take me all year to make the quilt. In the meantime, let's get on with sharing.

Check out these from last week:
Kathy's Quilting Blog shared a Valentine Mystery quilt,

Not Afraid of Color made a kitchen challenge quilt, Too Many Cooks,

and MMM Quilting made this adorable heart baby quilt.

Now it's your turn - what's your share this week?
  • please link directly to your post
  • please link a quilt related item
  • visit with the other guests and leave some comment love
Have fun!

Valentine Goodies

The day for love is right around the corner and I've got some goodies just for the occasion. Head to the end of the post if you can't wait!

While red roses are considered a traditional Valentine gift, I've put a twist on that idea with hearts instead of flowers in the Love in Bloom runner. This one always says 'I love you'!

hearts as flowers in pots

Another traditional Valentine gift is chocolates. Maybe this year, it's time to step outside the box for some delicious Chocolate Dipped Strawberries. The real ones are usually available at a local store or make some - the fabric kind, that is!

Don't they look delicious? Choose a favorite - milk chocolate or white chocolate. These paper pieced Chocolate Dipped Strawberriesset in dark paper liners, are just waiting to be picked!

Maybe those strawberries are a bit too messy? Then how about the easy Sweetheart runner, full of red hearts to show everyone just how much you love them.

With all of these wonderful displays of love, my Valentine gift to you is a special coupon to use on these three patterns. From now until midnight February 16, use coupon code 'BEMINE' for 25 percent off these three special patterns in my Etsy shop.

Happy Valentine's Day!
