Get ready for summer next year with a camping-themed quilt made with blocks from Quilt Block Mania! And what's the most important item when camping? A tent, of course!
As you see from this view of the tent, it's most likely a two-person tent. Therefore, I've named it a 'Tent for Two' - sounds romantic, doesn't it?
And just look at all the other creative blocks for the camping theme!
Collect all the blocks this month to get started making that quilt for next summer's camp season. And don't forget to thank all the designers!

My Tent for Two block was originally a runner-up tent design for my son's Gone Camping quilt, with a different one ultimately winning the design as it suits the tree setting better.
So when the theme of camping came up for Quilt Block Mania, I jumped on signing up for a tent, happy that a previously designed block finally gets it's due!
Just like the tent in Gone Camping, Tent-for-Two is also paper pieced. I'm rating it for the intermediate quilter who has experience paper piecing. It's not hard to put together though experience helps to ease any frustration.
As far as fabric requirements, fat quarters or scraps will make one finished 12" block. And the colors? Completely up to you! Feel free to make a whole campground of them!
The Tent-for-Two block is now available in my Etsy Shop.

this is cute. thanks for sharing. I many fond memories of tents. I started camping when I was four. Every year we went to Yosemite Park. We slept outside in the back yard in a tent all the time. When I got married, my husband and I continued to camp out. When the kids came they joined us and we had some fantastic places we went. Then our son got into cub scouts and then boy scouts. My husband was scout master and they also did a lot of camping.
ReplyDeleteI like this tent version too. Your color gradation is fabric.
