Midweek Makers #442

Welcome to Midweek Makers! Happy 4th of July!

I haven't looked to see if the new monthly RSC2024 color is out yet, so I guess I'll have to wait till next week to show any new blocks. In the meantime, I stitched up one blue broken dishes block to finish off June's blue. Kinda boring.

But wait! I have progress to share on my scrap storage quilt. Check out my scrap bins!

Looks like I have a lot of blocks but it's only about a third of the quilt. With so many more blocks needed, one would think I'd really be clearing out those scraps. NOT!! Good thing there's still a lot of colors and holiday fabric left to stitch.

Did you check out the quilts from last week's party??? There were some real beauties - it was hard to choose those to highlight. But here they are:

from Patchouli Moon Studio, this adorable applique bear on a string block background,

from Julie's Quilts and Costumes, this beautiful rainbow orange peel,

and from Institches with Bonnie, this beauty.

Sorry to those whose blog links are not posted. For some reason, Blogger decides to make the link say 'null', though I have figured out how to enlarge the pictures again. I don't know what they did, but it's no fun going through several steps to achieve an easy task.

Anyway, what do you have to share this week? Join the party!
  • please share a quilt related item
  • please link directly to your post
  • visit the other guests and leave some comment love
Have fun!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

As for my Book Shelf, it's got a mix of paper backs, hard backs, classics and contemporary, maybe even a cookbook. Sure, you can see all that, right??? Imagination aside, these books are pieced using classic piecing techniques, plus a bit of foundation paper piecing for the leaning book. Paper piecing is awesome for helping to get those tough angles a block requires!

The Book Shelf block is listed as for the confident beginner quilter, who has some knowledge of paper piecing. This is a good block to learn on if you're new to the technique. As usual, fat quarters are all that's needed for one block.

Book Shelf is a free download pattern now until August 5. Just click on the download button below for the PDF pattern file.

In downloading the pattern, you agree not to share the file with others, but direct them to the QuiltFabrication.com/Book Shelf post - thank you!
