Midweek Makers #454

Welcome to Midweek Makers!

Since I opted for black as my 'dark' choice for the September RSC2024 color, I've made two more shoe box scrap blocks with some black in them. Below is black-on-white and white-on-black, two variants of black that can't be ignored.

Next month, the choice is 'lights' so I'll make up some white and grey blocks. Those will close out most of my color choices though I need to make a few more blocks to get the size quilt I want. Hmm, since it's October, maybe I'll make a Halloween block too!

Here's a few pretty quilt tops that caught my eye last week. From Scrapbox Quilts, her lovely rework of a Christmas mystery to make a table topper,

from Rebecca Grace Quilting, a great start of a quilt from a Maria Shell workshop,

and from Viridian's Blog, a subtle woven quilt that looks quite lovely.

Midweek Makers #453

Welcome to Midweek Makers!

My share this week is this lovely twin size client quilt. Made in cream, greens, and soft blues, with an open, swirling simple leaf quilting design, this one would please anyone!

And here's some very creative quilts that caught my eye at last week's party.
From Making a Lather, this pretty wall hanging that uses all sorts of fabrics,

from Scrapbox Quilts, her Sulky Village, a free pattern back in 2004,

and Quilting Gail did a fantastic job on her Island Batik Adventurous Applique project.

Nice work everyone!!

I also have some good news! Seems Blogger has finally fixed the linking issue AND the photo enlargement issue. Yay! No more work arounds - it's back to the same time saving steps. Hopefully they'll stay in place.

Midweek Makers #452

Welcome to Midweek Makers!

A week into September, and the RSC2024 color was finally announced - darks. I've chosen to go with black, though brown is also a choice. Given that I've done brown, and have a lot of black, I opted to make the under bed box block to showcase blacks that are mostly black.

In the same post linked above, So Scrappy says brown could be for next month, or if you don't have enough darks, choose a light color. For me, I guess that's going to be white. Until then, I think I'll sneak in a shoe box of white on black, and maybe one of black on white. Gotta check the scraps first!

Here's some fun quilts seen at last week's party:

from Bell Creek Quilts, an Single Scoop Ice Cream quilt,

from Scrapbox Quilts, Meet me in Paris, a jelly roll quilt in a luscious color scheme,

and from Donnaleeq, another Cowgirl quilt - too cute!

Midweek Makers #451

Welcome to Midweek Makers!

Sharing an in-progress picture of my Scrap Storage quilt - isn't it cute???

Of course this is a temporary layout as it looks like a few more shoe box blocks are needed. The tall blocks add a lot of visual weight, and the smaller blocks help break that up. Shelves and rails will help too. I shall continue on cause it's not nearly big enough!

While I'm still at the in-progress stage on my project, several have gotten their quilts completed. Check out Dresden Stars from Gretchen's Little Corner,

Frequency from Grace and Peace Quilting,

and Blockworth Orange from Bell Creek Quilts.

The flags are waving and I'm speeding to the finish line in this snazzy red Go Kart!

Transportation is the September Quilt Block Mania theme - just look at all the fun ways to get around!

Follow the links below for the transportation blocks seen above. Now that the free time period is over, each designer will let you know where to find them.
