Chocolate Roll for October Quilt Block Mania

Need a little pick-me-up while stitching? Maybe a piece of candy? Then reach for an all time favorite, a Chocolate Roll.

That's right - this month's Quilt Block Mania theme is sweets. Just look at all those choices!

Now, back to my Chocolate Roll block. Looks a lot like a Tootsie Roll, right? And you probably expected me to say 'then reach for a Tootsie Roll' instead of Chocolate Roll. I certainly used a Tootsie Roll as my inspiration, but because of the trademark name, I really can't name my block after Tootsie Rolls. But you can go ahead and call it that!

The Chocolate Roll block is a re-do of one of the candies featured in my Penny Candy block pattern, currently available in my Etsy shop. That pattern also includes fun and creative quilt layout ideas for the candy pieces - the blocks are quite versatile!

Heck, one of those candy pieces made its way in my Halloween Candy table runner. Really, what would the world be without candy???

Luckily, you can make (devour?) as many Chocolate Roll blocks as you want cause they're really easy to assemble. Perfect for the beginning quilter! For one block, grab the necessary fat quarters. To make enough to fill a candy dish, I suggest stocking up on yardage!

Chocolate Roll block is available as part of my Penny Candy block pattern. Feel free to add a border to make it a twelve in finished block as shown for Quilt Block Mania.
